sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssnake!

My landlord came over to do a bunch of raking, and found one of these in my yard! It's so cute! I'm pretty sure what we found was a baby. It didn't stay still for long, but it was probably about eighteen inches or so, maybe a half inch in diameter or so.

I'm pretty sure it's a Pacific Ring-necked Snake.

It makes me very happy that there's a snake that lives here too, one that's not likely to be dangerous to myself or my kitties when they periodically escape.
