need home improvement advice
Nov. 4th, 2007 01:59 amI've been rearranging my room and cleaning out my closets. I had one closet that was blocked by a bunch of stuff, and now is not. Being able to use the closet will be great. I'm deciding how much I want to try to fix it, though.
One side wall (the back wall of my room, also a wall on the outside perimeter of the house) is damaged - there are cracks in the wall, and there is a lot of what looks like dry rot or something. It's not wet (even when it rains) and it doesn't smell bad, but it looks almost rusty. I'm not exactly worried about it ruining my clothes or anything else I place in there, but it kinda bugs me and (silly, I know) it's bad feng shui.
I don't really know how to repair it, and we rent this house anyways so there's a limit to the kind of investment I'd want to make on this (and asking the landlord isn't likely to happen). Any advice? Is there anything easy I can do to make this better?
