Most Discordians and other weirdos will be familiar with Emperor Norton I. Unless you've visited his grave, you may not know of the Empress Norton.



Jose Sarria is a San Francisco drag queen who has done a lot for the queer community by founding the Imperial Court system, an international organization that celebrates GLBT achievements and awesomeness. Check out this article I posted to discord_society a few years ago.

I mention all this because I happened to see Sarria in the news. Apparently he helped sentence a murderer to death back in the 60s, and there was some question as to his impartiality - which was just upheld today. News article.
