When you see this image, what do you think it is? Don't read the comments or whatever. The point isn't for you to give me a 'correct' answer so much as I want to know what people are likely to think this is. (Considering getting it inked, want to see if people would get it.)

Sun.

Of course, most people are going to think it's a simplistic drawing of a breast. Which, depending on your take, might not be a bad thing.

Oh. I'm the only child. It looks like a boob. Not a breast. A boob.

("Boob" is way less mature and more giggly.)

Looks like a breast to me, but we're pretty breast-focussed over here. ;)

In the beginning of the Secret Doctrine, I believe it is, Helena Blavatsky uses the imagery of a circle followed by a circle with a point inside it to make some cosmological point or another (sorry I can't be more specific, Theosophical texts make my fingernails bleed they're so hard to read -- much worse than Crowley, largely because the Theosophists were worse poets, I think).

Yes, I thought of that too! I am reading a book right now that has these 12 epoptic sigils in them. They are loosely based on the ones Blavatsky talked about in Secret Doctrine, and are also linked to 18th century alchemical (Aurea Catena Homeri texts in which 10 sigils subtend from the Chaos Confusum to Quintessentia Universalis).

Grin, talk about hard to read.

That particular symbol is similar to one of the meditative sigils in my book. There is a "gnomic line" attached to each of them.
This one in particular reads:
"Without separation, there is no illumination."

It reminds me of part of an IQ test, the sort of question where you're asked to pick the next shape/object in the sequence. It could be either part of the question or one of the answers.

First thing I thought, weird though it may seem....eyeball. Then, it occurred to me that it seems to represent that there is always a little bit positive even in the negative.

To be perfectly honest, I see a circle with a dot in the middle. It doesn't immediately resonate with me in any symbolic way.

If I actively think about possible symbolism or representation I come up with:
- Wheel, eternity, cycle
- Sun or star
- Nipple
- Void, disappearing

It looks like a big round circle with a little black spot in the center.

Could be an eyeball, or maybe a breast with a nipple in the middle. A hydrogen atom maybe, or the orbit of the planet Mercury. A fish egg. It could be Your Brain On Drugs, immediately before the scrambling action begins. A dart board for the blind (scores not visible in the picture because they're in braille). The Sun with a single, very big sunspot. An internet-style "radio button" with a checkmark. A smiley face, as drawn by an unhappy cyclops. The round belly of a pregnant woman, with her belly button in the middle. A clock with no hands and no numbers. A wheel. The Ring Nebula (in photo-negative view). The saucer for my coffee cup.

But as for, What do I think it is? I think it's a circle with a dot in the middle.

My immediate gut reaction (like when I scrolled down my friends page) was that it was an egg. Then I thought eyeball and boob.

Not being a discordian or any of your other philosophical bents, I have what I might call 'fresh' eyes.

I see several things.

A singularity
A solar orbit
A bulls-eye
A tunnel
An infinity inside itself.

When I see the image, here are the ideas that come to mind:

Eyeball.
Circle with center point.
Planet in orbit around sun.
Symbol of Sun in astrology.

A Simpsons eye. Not trying to be cute, that's the first thing that occurred to me.
